Modern Ruffles

As the Fashion Week Autumn/Fall collections came to a close in Paris last week, I wanted to share my top high street picks for one of my favourite trends that will be coming in this season…Modern Ruffles.

When you hear ruffles you instantly think of meringue like wedding dresses or something that jumped straight out of the 1800s! Thankfully we have come a long way since then and have modernised this classic style!

After seeing likes of Alexander McQueen (my absolute favourite designer and idol), Gucci, Chloé and Oscar de la Renta grace the catwalks in effortless chic ruffles, I instantly fell in love. It is such a wearable trend that is both feminine and edgy, which can so easily be dressed up or down with little need for accessories.

So here are some of the items that I am loving for this season which will hopefully give you some inspiration for your Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Zara

I love love LOVE this pastel blue leather ruffle skirt, paired perfectly with this bold red top you cant go wrong! Gorgeous dressed up with some heels or some flats for a more casual day to day look. Not to mention its a steal at just £19.99!

Mango

Mango are always on point with fashion trends and this sweatshirt is a great example. A casual item for day to day wear with a flash of colour that will give the perfect finish to every outfit. I would pair this with some skinny/worn jeans and some loafers or pumps (the Gucci Ace leather sneakers would be perfect if your budget would stretch – Here). £29.99
