Can you believe it’s that time of year again?! Halloween is just a few days away and for most of you that means some wild parties and dressing up, but for me… this year I will be spending mine with my feet up, a cup of tea and binging on Netflix.
With Autumn now in full swing and the return of the cult favourite Pumpkin Spiced Latte, I have been trying out a few festive beauty products. As I mentioned in my previous post, I truly feel like part of the cast of the Walking Dead at the moment. My skin has been looking dull and tired along with generally feeling a bit rubbish, SO I have been taking that extra time to make sure I give myself a little pamper.
I’m a huge fan of sheet masks and this one has got to be up there as one of my favourites. Unlike some sheet masks I’ve tried in the past, this mask is quite generous in size and is made of bio-cellulose, meaning it will fit and contour to all size and shaped faces, making the mask overall more effective and hydrating.
If you hadn’t guessed by the name, this mask does contain pumpkin, along with a few other unusual ingredients, which boast a huge range of beauty benefits. Due to a high enzyme content and being backed full of vitamins, pumpkin is a saviour for dry skin, combatting acne and repairing and soothing damaged skin.
In case you are feeling a little extra, the mask also contains platinum and gold. These help with the absorption of ingredients into your skin and help with the overall appearance and complexion of your skin as well as slowing down aging. Who knew?!
The mask comes with a protective sheet on one size which you remove and discard. It is a little stiff, but I still used this on my face as a second mask just to give my skin a little boost in the week. After just 20 minutes of application, I’ve got to say this mask truly does live up to expectation. Not only does it smell divine, giving you that full spa experience, you can see the results straight away. Silky smooth, revived and refreshed skin.
If Autumn was a face mask. This would be it! My second product that contains pumpkin and smells good enough to eat (although I don’t recommend you try it) is the Andalou Naturals, Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask (here). If you’re familiar with the Peter Thomas Roth, Pumpkin Enzyme mask (here), this is practically the same, at a fraction of the cost! For just £9.99 you really can’t go wrong with this little gem.
Again, it has the same properties of the previous mask, dissolving dry and dull skin with the addition of exfoliating and resurfacing the skin tone, which is great for this time of year. The beauty of this mask is they you can apply as much as you want and can target specific areas of your face that need that little extra boost.
Now, we love a Pumpkin Spiced Latte! So what better way to keep your pout on point with the Jeffree Star, Pumkin Spiced Latte Velour Lip Scrub (here). Simply rub on your lips with your fingers to scrub away the dry, dead skin and hydrate your lips with sugar and jojoba seed oil, then lick off! Yes you read that right, this one you can actually eat!
It has a beautiful, buttery vanilla scent and tastes just as good too. If Pumpkin Spiced Latte isn’t your thing, don’t worry, there are 6 other flavours to choose from including 2 new limited edition flavours.
Definitely a handbag must have for the wintery months, especially if you’re a lipstick lover.
When it comes to the wintery months, there’s nothing I love more than a hot bath, so when looking for a spooky Halloween treat look no further than Lush. It’s safe to say that no one does Halloween better than Lush.
As hard as it was, I managed to get it down to two product from their Halloween range for this post. Having said that I will be doing a post entirely dedicated to my favourite Lush products, so keep a look out.
First up is the Pumpkin Bath bomb (here). Who doesn’t love a bath bomb?! And it smells AMAZING!! Leaving the bath water a gorgeous autumnal orange paired with a citrus and vanilla scent it’s the perfect retreat after a long day at work in the autumn months. It also contains Pimento Berry Oil and Cinnamon Bark oil which help hydrate the skin.
Finally, the Sparkly Pink Pumpkin (here) is a new version of the favourite Sparkly Pumpkin (here). If you’re not a fan of spicy scents, this one is a perfect alternative with bergamot, geranium and jasmine.
Bubble bars are a bit more hydrating than the bath bomb’s and you don’t have to use them all at once so you get a lot more product for your money! But a slight warning! They are covered in glitter, so I don’t recommend you give this one a go on a busy weekend, unless you can live with a sparkly bathroom for a few days!
What are your favourite products this Halloween? Have you given any a try?
Lots of love
